This quintessential Cotswold stone period cottage was sympathetically renovated and has been beautifully styled to create a cosy and yet contemporary property, with more than a touch of luxury.
Puffitt’s Cottage is warm and cosy with a wood burner at the heart of the living room, the limestone floors, exposed beams and stonework remind you of the history of this lovely cottage. Originally built in the 18C, and extended in Victorian times, Puffitts Cottage now offers spacious accommodation, private front and rear gardens, and parking for two cars on its own private driveway at the front of the property.
Puffitt’s Cottage is dog friendly, and can accept up to 2 well behaved dogs. With an enclosed, safe rear garden, and direct access to walks from the gate, we are perfectly placed for your Cotswold experience.
Set in the ever popular village of Bourton on the Water, famed for its series of low stone bridges over the fast flowing River Windrush and its period honey coloured stone architecture , this is the perfect place to relax and explore the Beauty of the Cotswolds. The centre of the village is just a short 5 minute stroll away and many walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep. The mousetrap pub is minutes walk away and your dogs are welcome too.

I love the Cotswolds and feel incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful home to share with you. Puffitts Cottage is a real home from home experience. Its full of charm and in an idilic setting to explore the local area and surrounding villages. You will start to relax and feel right at home the moment you arrive. Lulu my toy poodle always loves to visit so I wanted to create a dog friendly home which I hope your canine friends will enjoy as much as you do. Bourton on the water is especially dog friendly – There really is no other place like it.

Nicki the host was amazing from the call before check-in to explain everything to being available immediately to deal with a query during our stay. The cottage was perfect, exactly as described and it was cosy and festive with a Christmas tree and decorations. Nicky had thought of everything with a well equipped kitchen, clear instructions on how everything in the cottage worked and even left us a welcome hamper which was a lovely surprise on arrival. We brought our dog with us and there was even a bag of treats for her included as well as dog towels, poo bags and toys. Nicky was in touch before our stay to run through everything we needed and answer any questions and provided some great recommendations including the mousetrap pub just a few doors down where we had an amazing meal on New Year’s Eve. She also checked in when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and organised for us to be able to drop our bags in ahead of the check in time so we could go and explore. It is perfectly located on the edge of the village. Each morning we walked five mins to the bakery for fresh bread for breakfast, so location is ideal.Initially we were a little overwhelmed by the number of "rules" for the house, but I think this just reflects how thorough Nicky is as a host. She really wanted us to make the best of our stay. It's definitely more contact than I expected from a host, but comes from a good place.One of our favourite parts of the cottage was the lovely big kitchen. Although all the cupboards are chock full of cooking supplies, we had virtually nowhere to unpack groceries. Maybe fewer pots and pans just to make space to put away some food 🙂

We have a private driveway for 2 cars
You are welcome to bring your dog and a maximum of two WELL BEHAVED ADULT dogs are
allowed with prior consent from the owner. The Cotswolds is perfect for dog-friendly holidays, with so
much choice for lovely, varied walks through some of Britain’s most stunning countryside. We are not
able to accept any pets apart from dogs. Please read these Dog Terms and Conditions before booking
your holiday

Yes there is a great pub ‘ The Mousetrap” 30 seconds away and is dog
friendly
The centre of the village is just a 5 minute flat stroll away.
Check in is after 4pm and check out before 11am – We
can sometimes accommodate alternative times so please do check with us first.
We hold a small deposit and once the property has been
inspected on the day of departure this will be refunded within 7 days
This may be possible outside of peak holiday times. Please be aware that as prices are based on Friday
(main day) changeovers and Monday weekend stays any weeks that cross over would be charged at the
higher price.
We understand that some visitors have special requirements in terms of access and facilities. We offer
a small downstairs single bedroom with a walk in shower and WC. Please discuss this with us before
booking so we can advise you if suitable.
We offer an all-inclusive price for fuel and electricity costs. Logs for the burner are provided for your
initial night only. We can advise where these can be purchased from.
We provide ben linen and towels, also dog towels are available if you need them
Vehicles should NOT be charged at the property. The local supermarket has the facilities for this and
we can advise if needed.
Yes unlimited wifi is available free of charge and you will find the password in the property
Puffitts Cottage is a non-smoking or vaping property including the gardens.
Puffiitt’s Cottage is self-catering so you will need to bring your own provisions, however our kitchen
includes a full inventory of typical items you would find in your own kitchen so you shouldn’t need to
bring anything with you. We will include initial items such as those listed below to get you started.
Our luxury self-catering holiday home includes the following items to make your stay more
comfortable
• high quality bed linen and bath towels
• a hairdryer
• an initial stock of basic cleaning products, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and hand
soap
• an initial stock of refuse and recycling bags
• an initial stock of toilet roll
• a stock of newspaper, matches and firelighters
• washing facilities, iron and ironing board
• A digital property guide to help you with the property and the local area during your stay.
• A house folder including local walks, how to use the equipment , and emergency contacts
If you have guests joining you for only part of your stay, please let us know so we can include the correct
bed linen and bath towels. The maximum occupancy is five adults.
If you expect to have guests join you just for the day , we appreciate you letting us know how many
people this will be. Do bear in mind parking restrictions, which will be outlined on the pre-arrival
email.
We kindly request that you vacate your property by 11am on your day of departure, unless specifically
agreed otherwise. This will ensure that we have time to prepare the property to the same high standard
for the next guests. Departing guests are requested to please lock the property and pop the key back as
outlined in the pre-arrival email. Also switch off all lights and close all windows.
